University of Pennsylvania, Amy Gutmann Hall
Philadelphia, USA
Amy Gutmann Hall has successfully centralised resources that advance the work of scholars across a wide variety of fields while making data analysis tools and concepts more accessible to the entire community. The six-storey structure it is one of the tallest mass timber structures in the region and Philadelphia鈥檚 first building of its kind. This pioneering approach reflects the University of Pennsylvania鈥檚 commitment to sustainability and innovation in academic environments.
We provided structural, MEP and sustainability engineering, ensuring the building meets ambitious environmental goals. The mass timber system reduces the building鈥檚 carbon footprint by 52% compared to concrete and 41% compared to steel, while creating a warm, tactile and welcoming environment.
Our integrated approach helped deliver a future ready facility that combines cutting-edge technology with low carbon design, reinforcing Penn鈥檚 vision for an inclusive and sustainable innovation ecosystem.
It opened its doors to the university community for the first time in January 2025.

Sadler鈥檚 Wells East
London, UK
This new cultural landmark expands Sadler鈥檚 Wells鈥 reach with a 550-seat theatre and six studios for dance research and performance.
海角视频 provided a range of multi-disciplinary engineering solutions for the challenges posed by the space, including structural engineering, building services engineering (MEP), specialist lighting, facade engineering, inclusive design, sustainability, security, fire safety, wind and waste.
One key challenge was acoustic isolation – ensuring simultaneous performances without sound or vibration transfer – within a constrained urban site. The building also needed to accommodate diverse activities without compromising artistic integrity.
Our innovations allowed architects to maximise the footprint and create a vibrant, multifunctional venue. Advanced vibration control and soundproofing strategies were critical to achieving the client鈥檚 vision.
Sadler鈥檚 Wells East now stands as a dynamic centre for contemporary dance and community engagement. It offers world-class facilities for artists and audiences alike, reinforcing London鈥檚 position as a global hub for performing arts. The project exemplifies how engineering can unlock creative possibilities in complex urban environments. Sadler鈥檚 Wells East opened its doors to the public in February 2025.

Sports Boulevard
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
The Sports Boulevard is a transformational plan to create the world鈥檚 largest linear park in Riyadh, stretching more than 135 kilometres along Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Road and linking Wadi Hanifah in the west with Wadi Al Sulai in the east.
A multidisciplinary team from 海角视频 is collaborating with a consortium led by Coen + Partners to deliver a connected grid of safe green routes for pedestrians, cyclists, athletes and horse鈥憆iders. The park will introduce 4.4 million square metres of greenery and open space, facilities for more than 50 sports, 220km of cycling tracks, 149km of horse鈥憆iding trails and 135km of pedestrian walkways.
Serving a city of more than seven million residents, the corridor will embed health, wellbeing and recreation into daily life while advancing Saudi Vision 2030 and the Kingdom鈥檚 Quality of Life Programmes. The project is expected to catalyse jobs, new businesses and sustained economic activity, establishing Riyadh as a world鈥憆enowned destination and propelling it toward the ambition of being one of the top ten most liveable cities.
The first phase officially opened in February 2025.

Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park & Museum of Rowan University
New Jersey, USA
The Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park & Museum of Rowan University is envisaged as a beacon for climate education and paleontological research. The challenge was to create a facility that operates without fossil fuels, while supporting laboratories, exhibition spaces, and an active dig site. This required innovative thinking to align the building鈥檚 performance with its mission to inspire future generations to protect the planet.
We partnered with Ennead Architects and KSS Architects to deliver structural and MEP engineering, lighting design, and sustainability consulting. Beyond technical achievement, the project demonstrates how design can drive environmental stewardship and community engagement. The museum now serves as a hub for STEM education, offering hands-on experiences that connect visitors to the past while promoting a sustainable future. It is a model for how cultural institutions can lead in climate action.
The 44,000ft虏 hybrid mass timber facility features a museum and visitor centre, a fossil preparation lab, a nature trail, a palaeontology-themed playground, social spaces to accommodate special events, and areas for visitors to participate in paleontological digs at the site.
It opened its doors to the public in March 2025.

Westfield Hamburg-脺berseequartier
Hamburg, Germany
With its 14 hectares of urban space, the Westfield Hamburg-脺berseequartier project has become the new commercial heart of HafenCity in Hamburg 鈥 a landmark project for Germany and Europe鈥檚 largest inner-city development. The mixed-use development demanded seamless coordination across multiple architectural and engineering teams. Shared MEP services and complex basement systems required meticulous planning and collaboration to achieve an integrated solution. The scale and diversity of the project made digital coordination essential.
We led the overarching coordination role, leveraging BIM expertise to unify IFC models and resolve conflicts through structured 3D reviews. Our team designed site-wide services for heating, cooling, water, and ventilation, ensuring efficiency and resilience.
By bringing together specialists from Berlin and Warsaw, we delivered a cohesive, innovative solution for one of Europe鈥檚 most ambitious urban projects. The result is a vibrant district where retail, residential, and leisure spaces coexist seamlessly, supported by robust engineering and sustainable infrastructure.
The development formally celebrated its grand opening in April 2025.

Bow Bridge Road
Chelmsford, UK
Bow Bridge Road is the new landmark crossing that unlocks the Chelmer Waterside regeneration in Chelmsford. Designed and engineered by 海角视频 with contractor GRAHAM, the 50-metre twin bowstring arch in weathering steel spans the River Chelmer, linking Parkway with Wharf Road and Baddow Road to provide essential access for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists while retaining river navigation.
Early contractor involvement and parametric modelling underpinned an efficient solution that cut cost and carbon. Ground remediation addressed gas works legacy, and hydraulic modelling secured Environment Agency approvals.
An integral approach span removes bearings, and weathering steel screening manages flood pathways so water passes through the abutments without displacing flood risk to nearby development. The scheme integrates biodiversity鈥慶onscious lighting and long life, low鈥憁aintenance materials. The result is a distinctive piece of infrastructure that promotes active travel and forms a gateway to a new neighbourhood.
The bridge opened in July 2025, marking a key step in the city鈥檚 拢43.6m waterside transformation.

Everton FC: Hill Dickinson Stadium
Liverpool, UK
Everton鈥檚 ambition was clear: create a landmark football stadium that celebrates community and delivers an unforgettable fan experience. The design had to balance architectural drama with operational flexibility, while meeting sustainability goals and enhancing commercial opportunities. The stadium also needed to reflect the club鈥檚 heritage while embracing modern technology and environmental responsibility.
We worked closely with the wider design team to deliver multidisciplinary expertise across digital infrastructure, building services, and environmental strategies. Our agile systems enable tailored experiences for fans and events, while advanced energy solutions make this one of the most environmentally friendly football stadia ever built. The stadium鈥檚 design also prioritises accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring it serves as a true community hub. Hill Dickinson Stadium enhances user experience for fans, players, and staff, while increasing Everton FC鈥檚 opportunities for commercial growth. It is now recognised as one of the most atmospheric and sustainable venues in the world. It held its first Premier League match in August 2025.

Brooklyn Marine Terminal Planning
New York, USA
The Brooklyn Marine Terminal (BMT) Vision Plan, introduced by NYCEDC in June 2025, sets out a transformative vision for the waterfront. Spanning 122 acres acres, the plan proposes an all-electric port integrated with the Blue Highways freight system, alongside 6,000 new housing units. It also includes 28 acres of new public open spaces and significant infrastructure upgrades.
This ambitious plan aims to balance industrial vitality with community needs, creating a mixed-use district that supports economic growth while delivering social equity. 海角视频 was selected to lead a multidisciplinary team to support the planning and visioning of the site. We are working closely with City and State agencies, the Advisory Task Force, and the broader community to ensure the final General Project Plan reflects shared priorities. Our role includes advising on infrastructure strategies, sustainability frameworks, and stakeholder engagement processes to deliver a plan that maximises public benefit. By combining technical expertise with collaborative planning, we are helping shape a waterfront that meets the demands of industry while enhancing quality of life for residents.
In September 2025, the Brooklyn Marine Terminal Task Force voted in favour of the ambitious plan progressing to the next stage of its development.

GBD 149 鈥 research building for federal institute
Berlin, Germany
GBD 149 is a new research and laboratory building for the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) at Gro脽鈥態erliner Damm in Berlin鈥慉dlershof. It consolidates eleven materials research disciplines for around 1,500 staff, bringing ultra鈥慺ine microscopy and heavy concrete testing together within a single, precisely controlled environment. The facility replaces century鈥憃ld laboratories in Berlin鈥慡teglitz that no longer meet modern technical requirements.
海角视频 is providing multidisciplinary building services engineering, including HVAC, lighting, technical gases, sanitation and vertical transportation, and is integrating sustainable energy systems. The design incorporates district heating, heat pumps, photovoltaics and process heat recovery, alongside a green roof, targeting BNB Silver certification for laboratory and landscape.
Our integrated working model tightly couples validation and planning to control cost, meet stringent safety and vibration criteria, and deliver a resilient, low鈥慶arbon research infrastructure for BAM. This exciting project broke ground in September 2025.

berlin modern
Berlin, Germany
Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, berlin modern will complete Berlin鈥檚 Kulturforum, creating a vibrant cultural destination alongside the Neue Nationalgalerie and Philharmonie. Connected by an underground tunnel, the new museum will provide space to showcase Berlin鈥檚 significant 20th-century art collection.
海角视频 supported the competition-winning design and now leads on building services and lighting strategy. The project demanded innovative solutions to meet strict conservation and comfort requirements while preserving the museum鈥檚 minimalist aesthetic. Our team developed a 鈥渢echnology ring鈥 in the second basement to deliver fresh air, heating, cooling and power without compromising architectural intent.
We specified cascaded air handling systems and used CFD modelling to design dynamic air curtains that protect artworks in the open-plan galleries. 海角视频 also oversees lighting design, ensuring optimal presentation and preservation. When complete, berlin modern will offer an inspiring visitor experience and strengthen Berlin鈥檚 cultural identity.
The project celebrated its topping-out ceremony in October 2025.

Brent Cross Town
London, UK
Brent Cross Town is one of the UK鈥檚 largest regeneration schemes, transforming 180 acres in north London into a sustainable neighbourhood. The 拢8bn development will deliver 6,700 homes, 3 million ft虏 of offices, schools, cultural spaces, and 50 acres of parks, all designed around health, wellbeing, and community.
海角视频 is providing strategic energy and utilities expertise to enable this transformation. Our team has developed a net zero carbon energy strategy to help Brent Cross Town achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, designed the spatial layout for below鈥慻round utilities and drainage, and secured new grid connections and water reinforcements. We also advised on the creation of a district energy centre with Vattenfall, supported by 拢10m of government funding, which will recycle waste heat and integrate low鈥慶arbon heat pump technology.
Our work is embedding resilience, sustainability, and innovation into the town鈥檚 infrastructure. By coordinating complex services through advanced digital modelling and delivering smart grid solutions, we are helping Brent Cross Town set new standards for sustainable urban development.
In October 2025, the first major public space – Neighbourhood Square – opened, marking a milestone in the journey toward a thriving, carbon鈥憂eutral community.

Grand Egyptian Museum
Cairo, Egypt
Monumental in scale yet insightful in approach, the Grand Egyptian Museum stands as an impressive new landmark beside the ancient Pyramids of Giza. Designed to harmonise with its historic surroundings, the museum combines bold architecture with passive environmental strategies to create a visitor experience that is both visually stunning and sustainable. Its vast galleries house thousands of artefacts, including treasures from Tutankhamun鈥檚 tomb, demanding a delicate balance between preservation and accessibility.
One of the greatest challenges was maintaining environmental conditions suitable for priceless artefacts without resorting to energy-intensive systems. Our team developed an intelligent environmental zoning strategy that leverages Egypt鈥檚 dry climate, reducing reliance on air conditioning.
Beyond environmental design, we delivered integrated building services, IT, fire, security, and acoustic strategies. Extensive fire modelling utilised the undulating roof voids for smoke extraction, achieving safety beyond code. Working in joint venture with Heneghan Peng from competition stages, we provided a holistic solution that transformed a bold architectural vision into one of the world鈥檚 most magnificent contemporary museums. Its official opening took place in November 2025.

Data-based urban development in India
India
Smart, citizen-centred data platforms are transforming urban development in India. These platforms collect, analyse and share data to help cities make informed decisions on transport, housing, health and sustainability. 海角视频 worked with GIZ and India鈥檚 Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs to support the rollout of the national 鈥楧ataSmart Cities鈥 strategy, part of the Smart Cities Mission, which this year marked ten years since its initial inception.
Our team assessed five national Urban Data Platforms, evaluating their quality, accessibility and usability through a bespoke framework. This study identified opportunities for knowledge sharing, collaboration and improved governance, while highlighting challenges such as coordination and data gaps. Case studies demonstrated impact, including apps for women鈥檚 safety and pollution analysis in New Delhi. The findings inform recommendations for scaling platforms, balancing centralisation with local flexibility, and exploring monetisation alongside open data culture. India now stands at a pivotal moment to leverage data for sustainable, inclusive urban futures.
