Brooklyn Marine Terminal Planning
Brooklyn, NY, USA
海角视频 is leading the planning team for the Brooklyn Marine Terminal redevelopment.
The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), in collaboration with state and city leaders, is advancing the planning process for the transformation of the 122-acre Brooklyn Marine Terminal (BMT) along the borough鈥檚 western waterfront. The redevelopment aims to modernize the site into a 21st-century maritime hub and mixed-use community as part of the City鈥檚 broader 鈥淗arbor of the Future鈥 initiative.
海角视频 was selected to lead a multidisciplinary team to support the planning and visioning of the site. The team includes Office for the Next Environment (OFTN) Architecture, One Architecture & Urbanism, WXY Architecture + Urban Design (engagement lead), SCAPE Landscape Architecture, Creative Urban Alchemy, Moffat & Nichol, TYLin Group, BJH Advisors, Freight Matters, Tristate Engineers, and Ellana.
The BMT Vision Plan, introduced by NYCEDC in June 2025, proposes a 60-acre all-electric port, integration with the Blue Highways freight system, 6,000 new housing units (40% of which would be affordable at an average of 60% AMI), 28 acres of new public open spaces, and significant infrastructure upgrades. The plan also includes $50 million for a neighborhood affordable housing preservation fund, $200 million for NYCHA repairs, and a fund to support industrial businesses.
The 海角视频 project team remains committed to working with City and State agencies, the Advisory Task Force, and the broader community to ensure the final General Project Plan reflects shared priorities and delivers long-term public benefit.
