Never before have our built assets been under such pressure. Look around and you鈥檒l see huge numbers of buildings lying vacant, from offices to museums, shops to galleries, leisure centres and tourist destinations.

In post-Covid Britain, some structures will regain their purpose, but there will be many that remain redundant and unloved.

Enter, The Re:boot – an ongoing programme that empowers clients and project collaborators as they tackle a range of topics at the core of how the built environment can reenergise the UK economy  – including retrofit, refurbishment, repurpose and reuse, regeneration and redevelopment and new build, or a combination.

We know that some sectors are thriving. Distribution, food retail, online retail and pharmaceutical medicine are all doing well. There are variances in economic performance across regions too 鈥� some have been moderately affected and others are struggling with growing unemployment and severely depressed local economies.

In this programme, we hear from some of the UK鈥檚 leading engineering, advisory and consultancy experts on how repurposing and reusing our built environment can re-energise the UK economy. Our sustainability team will help clients understand how decarbonization, the circular economy and embodied carbon play a principal role in how Britain can 鈥渂uild back better鈥�.
