海角视频 supported a leading professional services company to develop the vision for a new digitally-integrated Irish headquarters to consolidate its current collection of disparate offices around Dublin.
The advisory firm is keen for the building to stand as an exemplar, world-leading workplace, with smart building technology at its heart.
Challenge
The building is envisioned to be one of the 鈥渟martest鈥 new office spaces in all of Ireland and one of the most technologically advanced commercial spaces in Europe.
海角视频 was engaged to support the client to make this vision a reality, working closely with the wider design team to ensure the latest technologies run throughout the fit-out.
The organisation currently has around several thousand employees in Dublin, based across four different buildings. By bringing them together under one roof, the company will be able to maximise the use of the space in a post-Covid hybrid working landscape, as well as encouraging greater workplace collaboration between teams.
In the process of making this shift, the client鈥檚 ambition was that the new building should significantly elevate the workplace experience for staff and visitors, providing better, more adaptive facilities.
The new building 鈥 a 32,000m2 developer speculatively-built space, across eight levels, already offers solid Grade A office facilities. But our smart building experts will raise the space to another level, enabling it to be a showcase for the latest workplace technologies.

Solution
Our smart places, digital and data team worked across both the smart building strategy and delivery. This involved engaging closely with the client and the building鈥檚 end-users, to fully understand the company鈥檚 requirements from its office space, and to support it in realising its smart building vision, budget and user journey.
We conducted a pre-occupancy study of existing offices and inputted into the design with clear and insightful suggestions, based on previous diagnostics lessons from similar commercial workspaces, while also identifying opportunities and potential pain points for digital integration.
We provided use cases and introduced the client to a range of technology options, leading on marketplace engagement and procurement, data strategy development, engagement with the wider design team, as well as acting as a trusted advisor through construction and commissioning.
We will also be on hand to support with helping the client to fully understand the digital diagnostics of the new building and to use these to support its own employee workplace offer, as well as to help it reduce its carbon footprint and manage its energy consumption.
The client also hosts a lot of business engagement events, so the finished headquarters will need to incorporate state-of-the-art events and entertaining spaces. There is also a requirement for client training and inhouse training suites, all of which should be fully digitally integrated. The key platform applications proposed include a workplace management building app, which will incorporate the use of mobile credentials (so you can use your mobile phone to gain access to the building), computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) and fault detection and building diagnostics.
On top of these digital infrastructure elements, the audio-visual control, lighting control and building management control systems will all be of the highest quality and fully integrated to provide a seamless user experience.

Value
The client鈥檚 new Dublin headquarters will include the latest technology, pursued at optimum cost/value/risk, to help maintain the company鈥檚 place as a world leader in understanding the workplace, as well as enriching the experience of its own staff and visitors, their health, well-being and productivity, whilst having the lightest possible touch on our planet.
