Smart places, digital and data

Place-based digital thinking and doing

Are you making full use of your diverse data sources? How would smart technology transform your client experience? Now you鈥檝e invested in smart technology, how do you move beyond development and into implementation?

Digital solutions and intelligence have always been an integral part of the 海角视频 toolkit. And with guidance on smart strategy, digital twins, data analytics and digital transformation from our expert advisory team, now they can be a powerful part of yours.

Identify and extract hidden value from a building, asset or space. Watch digitally informed decision-making enhance the social and economic outcomes of a development. Transform user experience and building performance with place-based digital solutions鈥. Digital technologies are arguably the most powerful and cost-effective way to respond to the world鈥檚 most pressing trends; we use them to create efficient, sustainable smart cities and buildings. Our skill lies in making the right technology work for you at each specific step of your own transformation journey.

Collectively, we all have changing expectations about the places and buildings we live, work and socialise in. Shifting societal views, the drive for sustainability, rapid urbanisation and economic cycles are changing the way we experience the built environment and what we expect. By merging 海角视频 engineering expertise and data mastery, our digital strategies and advisory capabilities recognise this and push your possibilities for people, place and planet further than ever before.

Driven by digital intelligence

Game engine technology creating immersive visualisations and simulations, with real-time insight. Performance data realisation via digital twins. Smart buildings and entire connected communities built with sustainability and socio-economic outcomes at heart. Computational engineering to power solutions for complex problems. These 海角视频 place-based digital solutions help you connect the digital with the physical, turning input into the most powerful possible outcomes. Digital technology should support innovation that improves efficiency and sustainability outcomes 鈥 and we deliver it.

Areas of expertise

Total digital transformation

We engage in whole life cycle digital transformation for our clients. In a rapidly changing world, we support clients to adapt by using digital technology. We enhance the capacity and capability of our clients鈥 organisation in order to realise the benefits of implementing place-based digital solutions.

Smart places

We live in a digitally connected world. Smart places and buildings are those that use technology to facilitate economical and efficient use of resources, using intelligent systems to improve performance and the experience of users. To achieve this, we define your vision, then develop and execute a strategy on your required business outcomes.

Digital twins

A digital twin is a virtual replica of a physical asset. Digital twins are driven by data and are a collaborative, engaging digital platform to provide valuable insight into how a building or space will perform and interact with users. As a result, performance can be improved, operating costs can be reduced, efficiency can be increased, and potential issues can be identified. We understand that the value of digital twins is related to the elements that are to be improved and optimised, and we support our clients in achieving the precise outcomes they need.

Our experience

Oakland Energy Masterplan digital twin

Pittsburgh, USA

The Oakland Energy Masterplan is a key project supporting the City of Pittsburgh鈥檚 10-year Oakland neighbourhood plan. We assessed Oakland鈥檚 energy, water and wastewater infrastructure to produce a calibrated energy baseline, projecting an energy model and digital twin of the neighbourhood.

The digital twin is a virtual replica of Oakland鈥檚 real environment. The digital twin allows users to visualise and assess all compiled data and it will provide the opportunity to undertake data analytics, interactions between proposed infrastructure and building solutions, and develop scenarios for energy and carbon reduction.

The energy baseline data covered 3,100 plus buildings in Oakland, forming the basis for future energy projections and test recommendations and strategies to determine energy-related impacts at individual building and neighbourhood scale.

EQ

Bristol, UK

Designed to provide the optimum blend of innovative, flexible workspace and employee wellbeing, the EQ development sets a new standard for office development in Bristol and the South West.

To deliver workspaces that really stand apart from others, 海角视频 was also asked to create a truly smart building with integrated systems and leading-edge technology. There is also potential to develop a building app that will work alongside the technologies embedded within EQ. We achieved ways to integrate these electronic systems and link them through the app, so users can truly interact with the spaces they inhabit.

Our sense is that 海角视频 engineers are innovative and that they explore the brief and possibilities, they are not 鈥榗ookie cutters鈥 that just seek to apply something from another project onto a new one. They are unafraid to challenge our thinking and to back up their ideas with data and evidence.鈥
