Our team in Rotterdam work on local and international projects. These include the two iconic Y towers in Amsterdam as well as other high-rise buildings in Rotterdam.

They deliver engineering and consultancy solutions for the built environment, across buildings and cities, with support from our other international, multidisciplinary offices to ensure the best result for each project.

Rotterdam鈥檚 cityscape has seen the arrival of several major buildings, from OMA鈥檚 towering De Rotterdam hotel and office block, MVRDV鈥檚 colossal market hall to the new railway station by Benthem Crouwel, MVSA and West 8. These landmark buildings and experimental constructions have transformed the Netherlands鈥� second city into an excellent destination for architectural innovation.

Rotterdam is home to the highest number of architectural firms in the Netherlands and is celebrated by the Dutch building industry as the nation’s architectural captial.

Public Library Rotterdam

Rotterdam鈥檚 Public Library is one of the city鈥檚 most distinctive buildings 鈥� with its striking yellow exterior air conditioning pipes making it something like a local version of Paris鈥� Centre Pompidou. But the 1980s-built library is undergoing a major renovation to bring its interiors up to 21st century standards.

Oopen, a new landmark on Jaarbeursplein, in Utrecht, will be the first zero emissions mixed use high-rise building in the Netherlands. It will be located close to the city鈥檚 bustling railway station.
