From heat and power to regeneration and value: Six ways 海角视频 is shaping the agenda at UKREiiF 2026

At UKREiiF in Leeds, 海角视频 is bringing important questions to the table: how to power infrastructure, accelerate decarbonisation and unlock long-term value across the built environment.

Across six sessions, our experts will share insights spanning early-stage design and placemaking, integrated low-carbon heat and energy systems, and the evolving role of investment in delivering net zero outcomes. From rethinking stadiums beyond matchday and preparing infrastructure for future demand, to turning electrification and EV charging into a commercial advantage, we鈥檒l be contributing to the conversations shaping more resilient, low-carbon places.

Through a series of hosted fringe events, panel sessions and roundtables, our team will be sharing lessons from live projects across regeneration, energy and sustainability and testing ideas with clients and partners.

Session 1: Right first time: using early wind analysis to unlock better placemaking

Tuesday 19 May, 8鈥9.30, fringe event hosted at 海角视频 Ltd, 3 Wellington Pl, Leeds LS1 4AP

Too often considered late in the process, wind microclimate can drive costly redesigns, planning delays, and compromised schemes. Bernardo Vazquez, Director at 海角视频, will share practical insights from real projects, including lessons learned from high-profile case studies, to demonstrate how proactive wind engineering can unlock better outcomes from the outset and support the planning process.

Session 2: More than matchday

Tuesday 19 May, 12.30鈥13.30, sponsored panel session in the Industry in Focus Pavilion

What happens when a major sports venue becomes more than just a place to play? Tom Newby, Partner at 海角视频, will chair a panel exploring how a new stadium can support and uplift its surrounding community, spark long鈥憈erm economic growth, inspire cultural identity, and transform urban infrastructure. Join us to uncover how design, planning, and partnership decisions made today can set the trajectory for employment, investment, and civic pride for decades to come.

Panel speakers include: Jamie Jones-Buchannan, Chief Executive at Leeds Rhinos, Hari Sothinathan, Partner, Infrastructure & Real Estate at Deloitte, Angela Barnicle, Director for City Development at Leeds City Council, Tristan Pople, Associate Director at IPW and Elise Baudon, Director of Masterplanning at Prior + Partners.

Session 3: Decarb dilemma: Public vs private investment in the public sector estate

Tuesday 19 May, 15.15鈥16.15, speaking at a panel session in the Capsticks

Dr Mei Ren, Partner at 海角视频 will join a dynamic debate as two sides discuss the future of funding decarbonisation in public estates. Is private capital the accelerator of Net Zero, or does public investment safeguard accountability and equity? Expect bold arguments, sharp rebuttals, and big questions about a sustainable future for us all.

Session 4: Heat, power and place: Unlocking low-carbon heat through integrated design

Wednesday 20 May, 8鈥9.30, fringe event hosted at 海角视频 Ltd, 3 Wellington Pl, Leeds LS1 4AP

Drawing on Nick Boid, Director and Adam Al-Azki, Director at 海角视频’s experience across building鈥, campus鈥, district鈥 and city鈥憇cale projects, this session will look at the real鈥憌orld challenges shaping heat decarbonisation today 鈥 from grid constraints and winter peak demand to the space, noise and planning considerations associated with heat pumps.

.

Session 5: Wired for the future: Powering infrastructure for tomorrow’s developments

Wednesday 20 May, 15.30鈥16.30, speaking at a roundtable in the Hotot Suite

Alasdair Young, Partner at 海角视频, joins a roundtable exploring the challenges, trade-offs, and strategic thinking required to provide power to the projects of tomorrow, from commercial offices to logistics hubs and data centres.

Session 6: From compliance to competitive advantage: How electrification and EV charging infrastructure can improve EPCS and property value

Thursday 21 May, 9.30鈥10.30, speaking at a roundtable in the Hotot Suite

As EPC requirements tighten and sustainability becomes a core investment criterion, electrification and EV charging are now strategic value drivers for real estate. Anna Woodeson, Partner at 海角视频, will join a roundtable to explore how building electrification and well鈥憄lanned EV charging can support UK Net Zero ambitions, improve EPC performance, and enhance long鈥憈erm asset value. Using real鈥憌orld insights, we鈥檒l discuss practical, scalable strategies to future鈥憄roof assets while meeting regulatory, investor, and occupier expectations.

Why these conversations matter

Across wind engineering, integrated energy systems, infrastructure planning, investment strategy and sports-led regeneration, a common theme runs through 海角视频鈥檚 presence at UKREiiF this year: getting critical decisions right early, with the right data, insight and disciplines around the table. Whether the focus is wind, low-carbon heat, powering future infrastructure, electrification and EV charging, or unlocking value from major assets, long-term outcomes are shaped by the choices made at the start.

That is what makes these sessions more than a diary listing. Together, they present a clearer point of view on the kind of places the industry now needs to deliver: more resilient, lower carbon, better integrated and more valuable over time.

If you are attending UKREiiF and would like to talk about any of these challenges, we would be delighted to see you at one of our sessions. If you cannot attend, you can still book a meeting with any of the below team to continue the conversation:

Colin Byrne, Partner, Ian Stewart, Partner, Dr Mei Ren, Partner, Alice Brook, Director, Sam Youdan, Director, Andy Keelin, Partner, Leonie Baker, Director, Richard Davidson, Head of Markets, Alasdair Young, Partner, Anna Woodeson, Partner, John Edgell, Partner, Andrew Tabern, Partner, James Dickinson, Partner, Pip Hunsworth, Associate Director, John Shakespear, Business Development Associate and Kayleigh Milkins, Business Development Associate.
