Director - Energy
Adam Al-Azki is a Chartered chemical engineer and technical director in the energy team at º£½ÇÊÓƵ, where he leads the firm’s district energy design service offering.
Adam specialises in the design, development, and delivery of innovative low-carbon and renewable energy systems, with a particular focus on district heating infrastructure.
Adam’s expertise spans the full lifecycle of district energy systems—from feasibility and techno-economic analysis through to detailed engineering design, procurement, and commissioning. He has successfully led multidisciplinary teams on some of the UK’s most ambitious district energy projects, including the extension of the Sheffield Blackburn Meadows District Heat Network, the Southwark District Heating Network in London, the Midlothian Energy Ltd. Network in Edinburgh and various schemes across the city of Bristol including the Bath Road Energy Centre and Frome DHN extension.
With a background in process engineering, Adam applies a first-principles, analytical approach to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and resilient energy infrastructure. His technical portfolio includes a broad mix of technologies such as high-temperature water and air-source heat pumps, energy-from-waste heat offtake systems, gas CHP, biomass boilers, solar thermal, electric chillers, dual-fuel systems, and heat substations.
In addition to his technical leadership, Adam has held key roles as client engineer, supporting both public and private sector clients through design development, contractor engagement, specification compliance, commissioning oversight, and project handover. His collaborative approach and deep technical insight have been instrumental in the successful execution of city-scale energy schemes across the UK and internationally.
