Engineering the future of airport passenger experience

Around the world, ambitious aviation developments are defining a new era of passenger experience鈥攂lending daring architecture, retail, hospitality and aviation infrastructure with unprecedented sophistication.

Set to open in 2019, Beijing鈥檚 Daxing International Airport and Singapore鈥檚 Jewel Changi Airport highlight how 海角视频鈥檚 integrated solutions are helping to realize these groundbreaking projects.

From the ground and the air, the faceted, glass and steel dome of Jewel Changi Airport will beckon travelers and local Singaporeans alike to explore its 1.4 million square feet of gardens, shops, restaurants, accommodations and airport services. 海角视频, working closely with Safdie Architects, pushed the boundaries of technology and conventional practices to develop an economically feasible strategy for delivering a long-span enclosure that telegraphs Jewel鈥檚 vision while enhancing the passenger experience within.

For Beijing鈥檚 Daxing International Airport, as part of the design team led by Zaha Hadid Architects and ADP Ing茅nierie, the undulating form works hand-in-hand with the goals for passenger experience, sustainability and long-term adaptability. Composed of six curved piers radiating from a central hub, the terminal design minimizes passenger travel distances to the gate, and also anticipates future expansion. Dramatic interior volumes and vistas welcome and inspire travelers, while enhancing wayfinding. Throughout the structure, carefully integrated passive design elements including sun shading, high-performance glazing, and optimally placed roof lights are expected to reduce overall energy consumption and CO2 emissions by 50 percent.

These bold new aviation ventures reflect not only forecasts for continued growth in international air travel, but the high stakes for premier global hubs. Upon opening, Daxing International Airport anticipates as many as 45 million passengers annually, a number that鈥檚 expected to grow to 72 million in the following years. In Singapore and Beijing, integrated design and engineering is providing a competitive advantage.

While the United States boasts one of the most robust aviation networks in the world, its international and regional airports also must maneuver to meet growing demand. And 海角视频鈥檚 airport, and passenger experience, experts are helping clients to meet the challenge.
