From streets and city blocks to doorways and turnstiles, we enhance the flow of people around the built environment. Our work improves user experience, optimises building performance, creates operational efficiencies and helps to provide safe places to be.

In collaboration with stakeholders and our design team, our people flow service utilises both static modelling and dynamic simulation to analyse user journeys across various scenarios.

We assess service levels, queuing, walking times, footfall, movement patterns and other key metrics. These insights enable us to recommend effective circulation solutions.

We offer integrated analysis with vertical transportation, transportation, thermal comfort and mobility – enabling us to think ahead of the curve whilst address all of your crowd flow needs.

Our people flow services include:

  • Crowd flow simulations
  • Pedestrian planning
  • Integrated people flow & vertical transport analysis
  • Multimodal analysis in urban spaces
  • Crowd-traffic interactions
  • Emergency evacuation
  • Process and logistics modelling
  • Risk assessments / optioneering
  • Data analysis and demand estimation
  • Integrated people flow and comfort analysis (for example, thermal & daylighting)

Pedestrian analysis for a major entertainment hub
USA

The project envisions the transformation of a sports facility’s surface parking lots into an integrated resort, a new public park, a sports village and state-of-the-art parking garage facilities.

A key project task was conducting crowd flow analysis using microsimulation to assist in evaluating pedestrian movements from the existing sports facility to the development’s main site through a planned pedestrian bridge. This study had a baseline model and multiple scenarios for comparison. The models were based on the planning and design input and were updated as these designs progressed.
