Consideration of odour is essential to ensure the enjoyment and reputation of a development to ensure site users are not exposed to potential odour nuisance and provide a good level of amenity.
Odour impacts can lead to loss of amenity and complaints, and can even amount to a statutory nuisance. Where odour is likely to be an issue at a new development, we are able to assess odour exposure levels that will be experienced by users and provide advice on mitigation as required.
The subjective nature of odour makes it a complex and subjective issue to assess; we use a number of techniques, in unison to carry out odour assessments. This includes both practical and computational tools such as on-site sniff testing and dispersion modelling.
Our assessments allow us to determine odour impacts on a development and provide our clients with advice on mitigating any impacts. This minimises any loss of amenity due to odour, increases the enjoyment of a development and prevents odour related complaints.
