Kathleen Hetrick is a trailblazer in regenerative design and low carbon supply chains, serving as an associate principal at º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and a Bloomberg Fellow at Johns Hopkins University

As the Sustainable Integration Lead for º£½ÇÊÓÆµ US, Kathleen merges her passion for supply chain transformation and public health with her technical expertise in Architectural Engineering. She spearheads the sustainable design process on groundbreaking projects, including LEED Platinum, ILFI Zero Carbon, and Living Building Challenge certifications. Notably, she coordinated the Living Building Challenge for the Santa Monica City Hall East.

Her recent work includes pioneering the circularity strategy for New York City’s first circular design pilot project, including the deconstruction and reusing the construction materials in a 1950’s nursing school to develop a life science-focused community college and high school for NYCEDC, Science Park and Research Campus (SPARC) Kips Bay, Component A. Kathleen is a recognized expert in low embodied carbon buildings, collaborating with cities, universities, and Fortune 500 companies on supply chain decarbonization.

Kathleen is also dedicated to inspiring the next generation. She leads º£½ÇÊÓÆµâ€™s regional outreach initiatives, encouraging K-12 students to pursue sustainability-focused careers in STEM. She is a board member of USGBC-LA and a founding instigator of the Carbon Leadership Forum – Los Angeles. Her contributions to the construction industry earned her the 2023 Living Future Hero award.

Kathleen is a sought-after speaker, sharing her insights at prominent conferences such as the I2SL Annual Conference on Laboratory Decarbonization (2024), Sustainable Brands Conference on Supply Chain Evolution (2023), and the Municipal Green Building Conference on Nature-based Solutions (2023).
