Together they represent a quiet confidence by the firm in its ability to deliver high-quality, award-winning projects across all sectors. The practice strives towards realising transformational outcomes for clients and end-users, having more partners will strengthen this.

All candidates show incredible passion for their sector, specialising in everything from sports stadia to sustainability, masterplanning to super-tall buildings. They are based across the globe, in Los Angeles, Boston, Abu Dhabi, Bath and London, and work, or have worked on many of 海角视频鈥檚 key projects, including Emerson College, the London Olympic Stadium, The World Cup Stadium in Qatar, Stratford Waterfront, Battersea Power Station, the Lakeshore Project in Bristol and SAMBA Bank HQ in Riyadh. Wit, personality and cultural alignment are the attributes that really matter, according to the 海角视频 panel.

Committed partners, future growth

All candidates show incredible passion for their sector, specialising in everything from sports stadia to sustainability, masterplanning to super-tall buildings.

John Swift, principal in Boston, soon realised the unique dual nature of 海角视频, 鈥淚 quickly realized that 海角视频 is an organization that I wanted to be a part of. Becoming a partner will provide me with the opportunity to build a practice in Boston that delivers creativity and technical expertise with global impacts and local roots.鈥 John writes standards for the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the Environmental Protection Agency and the General 海角视频 Administration.

UK building structures regional director Emily McDonald is keen to focus on design and recruiting exceptional talent, 鈥淚 am delighted to have been asked to join the partnership at what feels like an exciting juncture for the business.  I hope to help bring a greater diversity of outlook to the business with my particular passion for talent development and integrated design.鈥

Duncan Price

Duncan Price, sustainability director, agrees with Emily about making 海角视频 the best place to progress as an engineer, and also wants to push sustainability, 鈥淚’m excited to be shaping the future direction of the practice so that 海角视频 is recognised as a leader in sustainable development. I want to make this the absolute best place to be if you want to grow your career – making a positive impact and enjoying yourself along the way.鈥 Duncan was one of the ‘Top 50 Stars of Sustainability 2013’ in Building Magazine, and is currently leading 海角视频鈥檚 work in designing to maximise health, wellbeing and productivity.

Alasdair Young, leader of the 海角视频 energy consulting team, is 鈥渄elighted to be asked to join the partnership; it鈥檚 a clear statement that 海角视频 wants to be a leader in the distributed energy revolution and is committed to mitigating climate change.鈥

Abu Dhabi-based principal consultant Ante Baric is 鈥渆xtremely excited about joining the partnership as a non-engineer to help strengthen 海角视频鈥檚 presence outside our more traditional comfort zone.鈥

London-based group director Hayden Nuttall is most proud of 海角视频鈥檚 technology and care for its clients, 鈥淲e are a 鈥榯echnology-driven鈥 design firm. We strive to push the boundaries of engineering and to use advanced computer simulations to help us deliver the most efficient, sustainable and elegant buildings, because we care about delighting our clients and enhancing the lives of the people who use them.鈥

Robert Moyser

Bath-based director Robert Moyser is looking forward to changing perceptions, and embracing new leads, 鈥淲ithin the built environment, the introduction of new digital services and technology solutions are starting to change perception of long term value. They introduce new opportunities that were not previously available and I am keen to support the Partnership in the scaling and co-ordination of our capability in this very important area.鈥

The importance of design and technical excellence at 海角视频 is reflected in the appointment of Fergus McCormick, technical director, particularly in the fields of long span structural engineering, sports stadia and entertainment arenas.

Large, complex projects are no problem for Franck Robert, structures regional discipline leader. He is project director for Battersea Power Station, leading eight different disciplines for the refurbishment and transformation of this iconic building.

Christopher McClean, Los Angeles-based regional discipline leader (MEP) has provided 鈥渆xceptional support鈥 to David Herd, partner and founder of our practice in California. He is 鈥渢hrilled to be joining the Partnership, continuing to collaborate with progressive clients to deliver world class projects across the US, which have a strong focus on sustainability and multi-disciplinary, people-centred design.鈥

Andrew Wylie, regional discipline leader, brings with him particular experience in museum and theatre buildings. Focusing on communication of ideas is one of Andrew鈥檚 strengths, a skill that helps him deliver high-quality, well integrated design and he is the only engineer to be a member of the Association of British Theatre Technicians.

Project director Rob Amphlett, also specialises in design of large stadia, including delivering the new stadium for Tottenham Hotspur on White Hart Lane in London. His specialist skills include conceptual design, integrated building design, and proficiency with complex 3D geometry, dynamic loading, post-tension concrete design and long-span and fabric structures.

Claire Smith

Claire Smith, group director, has 25 years鈥 experience in structural engineering. Based in Bath, she is keen to expand 海角视频鈥檚 opportunities in the south-west, 鈥淚 am excited by the opportunity it will give me to increase 海角视频鈥檚 impact in the South West market. Going forward I hope to continue to actively support the development of our young engineers, delivering great projects and having fun along the way!鈥
