Advisory, Higher education consulting, Strategy and operating model design advisory

海角视频 supported Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) in its ambitious goal to grow to 1,000 students on a radically accessible and inclusive campus through the provision of expert advice that helped shape the new master plan.

We worked collaboratively with MCAD leaders to understand future programs and faculty, staff, and student populations academic planning and space programming. Then we translated the academic plan into space projections for the master plan to help MCAD grow and adapt.

Challenge

海角视频 advisors facilitated a series of engagements to articulate the future of academic programs for MCAD to inform campus planning. Together, we analyzed programs and enrollment, explored trends and examples within and beyond higher education, and established strategies to drive enrollment, retention, graduation rates, and impact.

This included qualitative student research and quantitative enrollment projections along with faculty and staff projections to support student growth and enable student success in areas like health and wellness.

Solution

Our academic planning work served as a key driver of the overall campus plan using MASS Design Group鈥檚 purpose-built Liberatory Design Framework, which elevates five design principles: transformational environments, interconnectivity, anti-racist environments, radical accessibility, and experiential landscapes.

Our strategy and operating model design experts translated the academic plan into a population-based space forecast for the master plan program and recommended enhancements to the type, quantity, function and location of spaces.

brightspot (now 海角视频) helped us reimagine our campus for the next generation of creative leaders. Our college is a nimble, resource-conscious institution and brightspot met us where we are and were keen to understand both our stressors and aspirations in equal measure. They were agile and insightful partners throughout the process.鈥
