Medical Association Lower Saxony
Hanover, Germany
The new headquarters of the Lower Saxony Medical Association combines the functions of an office building for about 400 employees with a modern training centre at its existing location.
The building is divided into two parts due to its different uses: the west-facing half houses spacious seminar and examination rooms, as well as a kitchen and cafeteria, while the east wing is dominated by office use. Both sides are combined by the central multi-storey access as a kind of clasp. Most prominent is the office tower with 10 floors on its northern elevation. From there, the number of floors gradually decreases clockwise.
The roof areas are either developed as terraces or extensively planted. They provide a direct connection to nature at the workplace and contribute to the microclimatic improvement in the surrounding urban space as well as to an ecologically sustainable building operation.
The building, planned as a reinforced concrete construction, is determined in its layout by its use. The different uses are also reflected in the shell construction and the chosen structures. The column grid is derived from the facade layout and is a multiple of the facade grid of 1.35 metres. Usually, the standard is 6.75m. However, the axis dimension of the main foyer measures 8.10m due to its open width on the ground floor.
The building services concept for the new building aims to create energy efficient, flexible and cost-effective technical installations based on technologies with reduced energy and maintenance costs to increase efficiency in use and sustainability.
海角视频 can draw on many years of experience with BIM. Our structural engineers created a simplified analytical model – Single Analysis Model (SAM) from a 3D model for the building鈥檚 structure. We also created a BIM model for the building services.
These data models, reduced to the essential elements, optimise interdisciplinary cooperation and accelerate the workflow in the event of plan changes.
