海角视频 helped a large scale, ambitious Middle East project to develop a strategic analysis of the facilities management (FM) service provider landscape, define the FM requirements of the project and review the typical service delivery approaches by best-in-class service providers.

The evolution of FM delivery has trended towards greater outsourcing, enabling organisations to focus on their core competencies while benefiting from the expertise and efficiency of external partners.

More than 50% of the FM market value, across many regions, is now outsourced, leading to the emergence of FM models that respond to changing market dynamics and advancements in the sector.

Challenge

The client is developing a city-scale vision offering a new approach to a sustainable and resilient built environment in the Middle East. 海角视频 advisory would need to deliver a unique piece of work, bespoke to the requirements of this iconic project.

海角视频 advisory would need to help the client understand the current state of the FM market and get to grips with the likely direction of future trends in order to enable us to work closely with them on the design for the optimal service delivery model. It would then be necessary to break down one of the world鈥檚 biggest FM packages into manageable sub-package contracts.

The FM service provider would need to be capable of tackling not only a project of this scale, but also one in which the isolation of the location meant a strategic approach would be required to overcome any issues created by the distance from supply hubs, skills shortages within the local market as well as providing consistent and reliable FM services as part of an ambitious model that had never before been tried and tested.

FM is core to many organisations achieving their sustainability targets by enabling the adoption of sustainable practices in the management and operation of facilities. This includes the implementation of energy efficient systems, waste reduction, and the conservation of water. Given the high sustainability aspirations of the project, this would also need to be a key consideration.

Solution

Our asset optimisation and commercial experts began by conducting extensive market research of the global FM market, focusing on projected market values, both globally and nationally, and key trends in the market 鈥 including an overview of emerging smart building technologies likely to impact the sector. We were then able to deliver an insightful overview, broken down into key regions 鈥 North America, Europe, Australasia, Africa and Latin America.

FM is increasingly leveraging technology solutions to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance decision-making. This presents opportunities for both suppliers and consumers to deliver end-to-end FM 海角视频 with the use of AI, AR/VR, IoT (Internet of Things), and robotics/automation in a data-driven ecosystem.

Our initial deep-dive into the sector gave the strong foundation to enable us to fully assess and begin to engage with the key market players. We developed a database of 142 stand-out FM specialists, and assessed via qualitative and quantitative factors such as financial performance, experience outside their home market and breadth of services offered.
