UK Facades Discipline Leader
Zara is the discipline lead for facades in the UK with over 17 years of experience delivering facade engineering projects from concept to completion. She holds a master鈥檚 in facade engineering and a bachelor鈥檚 degree with honours in architecture. Zara is a recognised industry leader and sits on the board of the CIBSE Society of Facade Engineering.
Her experience spans complex facade solutions including the perforated inclined brick of Tate Modern II, the 11m mirror-polished steel Telstar Soccer sculpture in Atlanta and the closed cavity double skin glazing of Taipei鈥檚 Fubon Skyscraper. Zara鈥檚 work covers sectors such as residential, transport, healthcare and commercial.
She is skilled in facade performance analysis including fire, thermal, solar, daylighting, wind, weathertightness and acoustic. Zara frequently presents at conferences on compliance with the Building Safety Act, sustainability and innovation. Her on-site experience, including a year as a residential engineer, gives her practical insight into construction challenges. Zara鈥檚 passion lies in creating solutions that respond to client priorities in a comprehensive and considered way.
