Powell Draper is a structural engineer and Principal at 海角视频, where he focuses on bridges and specialty structures.

Powell is an advocate for creative collaboration, particularly in seeking new opportunities for the integration of structure, architecture, and sustainability. His projects have included: the Moynihan Train Hall gridshell skylights in New York City; footbridges at Princeton University, Buffalo, and the Seattle-Tacoma Airport; vehicular/ pedestrian bridges in Indianapolis, Toronto, and London, Ontario; fa莽ade projects for One World Trade Center in New York, the National Gallery of Art, and National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.; and a number of artworks and experimental structures.

His Ph.D. dissertation from Princeton University formed the basis of a chapter he coauthored in Felix Candela: Engineer, Builder, Structural Artist (Yale University Press), which was named one of the best architecture books of the year. His publications and research interests range from the history of engineering to new innovations for sustainable structures. In addition to practice, he has lectured and taught widely and currently teaches at the Cooper Union Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture.
