Olivia Bennett
Team Leader PDM - North
Olivia is a chartered civil engineer with 20 years of experience in structural engineering and project design management. Based in Edinburgh, Olivia leads the Project Design Management (PDM) team in the North.
Throughout her career, Olivia has demonstrated a strong aptitude for managing complex engineering challenges, particularly during the construction phase. Prior to joining the PDM team, she played a pivotal role in a variety of high-profile projects, including leading the civil and structural design for Edinburgh University’s Bayes Centre. Her hands-on approach during construction has enhanced her problem-solving abilities, which she now applies to a multidisciplinary role.
As a project leader, Olivia is responsible for managing projects that involve up to 20 different disciplines, these include a major estates regeneration project in Canning Town and the National Galleries Scotland’s Art Works project. Olivia places a high value on early coordination and effective communication, fostering a positive and enthusiastic environment on every project she leads. Olivia’s natural ability to connect with people and build strong relationships is key to ensuring the successful delivery of projects, as it allows her to fully understand client needs and consider different perspectives.
Olivia was also selected to participate in º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s C:lab programme, which equips individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive meaningful societal change. Her research focused on people-centered design, and as part of this initiative, she contributed to the development of A River Runs Through it.
