Oliver Stainton
Senior Structural Engineer
Oliver is a Senior Structural Engineer and joined 海角视频 in 2019. He is currently based at our Bath office.
Since starting at 海角视频 he has gained a wide range of experience ranging from residential and office buildings to sculptures and pavilions, from new builds to refurbishments, including projects such as EnergieSachsen in Dresden, AM TACHELES in Berlin and Symbiose Tanztheater in Wuppertal.
He expanded on his experience through his work on high-profile, international projects such as the Founders Memorial in Singapore and King Salman Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Through the implementation of computational design methods, Oliver has been able to provide valuable optimisations and efficiencies into the design process, particular in relation to complex geometries, such as the new Dock A mass timber building at Zurich Airport.
With a strong focus on sustainable design Oliver has been able to contribute towards the development and realisation of sustainability frameworks for clients, providing an advisory role in developing sustainable structures as well as what targets can be aspired to.
As part of the Urban C:lab 3.0 cohort he has been investigating the implementation of bio-based materials with the aim of driving an uptake in their usage to help create a more sustainable built environment.
Oliver holds a master鈥檚 degree in civil and structural engineering from the University of Sheffield and is member of IStructE and ICE.
