
Nigel Pickering
Director
Nigel has over 30 years of experience in geotechnical and civil engineering aspects of design and construction supervision of various civil engineering and development projects in the UK and overseas.
As Director of Geotechnical Engineering, working in both the Bath and London offices of º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, Nigel is responsible for team leadership, project management, and technical review of the ground engineering elements of projects undertaken within a multi-disciplinary project delivery framework.
He is experienced at all stages of a project, from initial feasibility and site investigation to detailed design and construction. In addition to extensive experience in slope instability and stabilisation, structural engineering projects, and highway and infrastructure schemes, Nigel also has experience with contaminated land aspects of site development and dealing with contractual issues, including claims and the preparation of expert opinion reports.
Nigel has worked with º£½ÇÊÓÆµ over a period of almost 20 years, responsible for the project management of geotechnical aspects of a wide variety of engineering projects, including commercial & leisure developments, infrastructure and transport schemes in the UK, United States, the Middle East and Asia.
He has experience living and working in the Middle East and Hong Kong. In addition to project management of a team providing site investigation, interpretative reporting and technical support, Nigel has extensive experience using analytical and geotechnical design software, including finite element analysis.
He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and an Advisor on the Register of Ground Engineering Professionals.
