Since joining London Structures in 2014, Matthew has worked on some of º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s major projects, including the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station, the V&A East, Wimbledon Parkland Project and a new campus for ESET.

Matthew is passionate about efficient, low carbon structural design. He has a holistic, proactive attitude to finding solutions and is practically minded, having spent several years on site at Battersea Power Station. He has particular expertise in building refurbishment, which includes working with listed heritage structures, as well as low carbon concrete and structural timber design. He is a part of a team of experts within the practice promoting the use of structural timber within the construction industry.

Matthew has worked on multiple humanitarian projects across the world including spending a year working for an NGO in Zambia in 2016, which allowed him to develop knowledge designing and building with natural materials. Subsequently he led the structural engineering team providing response to Cyclone Dineo, which struck Mozambique in 2017, and has worked in Rwanda as part of the Rubete Trail Bridge project.

Matthew enjoys teaching and is currently a technical tutor at the Architectural Association, having previously taught on the Architecture course at Central St Martins. He currently coordinates º£½ÇÊÓƵ visiting tutors to Kingston School of Architecture.
