Mads joined º£½ÇÊÓƵ in Berlin in October 2019 and is based in Copenhagen since relocating in June 2023.

Since joining º£½ÇÊÓƵ, Mads has focused on creating visual environments that prioritise visual and non-visual well-being and health, aesthetic qualities and atmospheres. He believes that the best lighting design combines aesthetics with evidence-based research that enhances occupant wellbeing.

Mads brings expertise in daylight analysis, electrical lighting design of visual environments, with a particular interest in how lighting impacts human health and performance through both visual and non-visual, sub-conscious perception, such as discomfort glare and circadian rhythm. Mads’ previous experience includes parametric daylight studies and assisting with the electrical lighting design for Uppsala Town Hall, Sweden. At º£½ÇÊÓƵ he has contributed to several high-profile projects, including the Motorola Solutions Office Refurbishment project in Berlin.

Through his work in the German market, he has worked to push the industry to move towards more sustainable and circular practices, both in how luminaires are designed and in the quality of data available for lighting designers to work with.

Mads studied Architectural Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark, specialising in indoor climate, and later earned a master’s degree in Lighting Design from Aalborg University Copenhagen, where his thesis explored the effects of peripheral discomfort glare on computer-based task performance.
