Leo is an architect specialising in the planning, design and delivery of technically demanding environments, with a strong focus on cleanrooms and laboratories for the pharmaceutical, life sciences and advanced manufacturing sectors.
As an Associate within 海角视频鈥檚 Lab Consultancy team, he operates within both research, manufacturing and commercial development. By helping clients unlock high鈥憄erforming, regulatory compliant spaces that support innovation and long鈥憈erm operational resilience. His work spans GMP facilities, high鈥慶ontainment laboratories and laboratory enabled commercial buildings; where technical requirements, user needs, and the design solutions must work seamlessly together.
Leo studied at the University of Liverpool and the University of Plymouth, qualifying as an architect through RIBA North West in 2016. His early career provided international exposure through feasibility studies for pharmaceutical cleanrooms, establishing the foundation for his ongoing interest in highly regulated and engineering intensive projects. He subsequently broadened his experience in Cambridge, whilst working he gained ARB registration while working on educational projects for institutions such as the University of Cambridge and the University of Warwick, before returning to specialist environments to focus on laboratory and cleanroom projects.
Across both public and private sectors, Leo has delivered work from early strategic studies through to detailed design and construction support. His experience includes master planning and feasibility studies for clients such as pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, as well as cleanroom design across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the USA. He has led global capability and location assessments spanning the Americas, Asia and the Middle East, and managed complex refurbishment programmes requiring careful sequencing within live operational environments. Leo has also provided commissioning support and witnessing of building systems for regulated facilities.
One of his notable contributions includes leading a multi鈥憄hase redevelopment strategy for a major optics medical device manufacturer. Working closely with the client, engineering teams and specialist stakeholders, he helped define a new global 鈥済old standard鈥 for production environments. The programme encompassed around 10,000m虏 of cleanrooms, with 6,000m虏 now operational and achieving performance beyond the intended ISO 8 classification while delivering significant gains in energy efficiency and production capacity.
Leo鈥檚 technical expertise is supported by professional certification from the Cleanroom Testing and Certification Board (CTCB鈥慖) through their Advanced Cleanroom Technologies course. He has worked extensively with current GMP requirements, supported MHRA engagement on a robotic aseptic pharmacy project, and collaborated closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate complex building system.
Leo brings a combination of architectural leadership, technical rigour and practical insight that helps clients make informed decisions while ensuring that complex laboratory and production environments perform as intended. His approach reflects 海角视频鈥檚 commitment to integrated thinking, collaborative design and delivering places that enable people and organisations to thrive.
