Jonathan Jackson is an associate director in º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s London structures team, developing structural solutions that enable architectural design and deliver complex projects. A Chartered Engineer with qualifications in both structural engineering and architecture, he brings an integrated approach and has a track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.

He began his career at º£½ÇÊÓƵ as a graduate in the Bath office, moving to London in 2015. With more than a decade of experience, Jonathan has led engineering teams on projects across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. His portfolio includes theatres, museums, concert halls, music studios, airports and scientific facilities – projects often defined by architectural complexity, technically challenging requirements and close collaboration across disciplines. He combines digital design tools with practical engineering insight to develop buildable solutions, and welcomes the challenge that complex, design-led projects bring.

Jonathan teaches integrated architecture and engineering design at the Bartlett School of Architecture. His passion for the built environment also extends to community engagement, where he has led several pro bono design-and-build projects with young people across London, supported by the º£½ÇÊÓƵ Foundation and our ‘Share Our Skills’ programme.

His recent work includes leading structural engineering for parts of the £1.1bn East Bank development in London, one of the UK’s largest cultural infrastructure projects. He was project director for the Vltava Philharmonic Hall in Prague and has worked on cultural and education projects for the V&A, Tate Modern, BBC, Sadler’s Wells and UCL.

He is currently the lead structural engineer for the Barbican Renewal programme.
