
Jamie Anderson

Jamie is Head of urban wellbeing and has 16 years professional experience as a wellbeing consultant, split between research and practice: creating and using strong urban wellbeing evidence.
In practice, he leads the ‘evidence informed’ wellbeing service offer within º£½ÇÊÓÆµâ€™s sustainability team. He has worked on more than 70 projects, either leading or supporting planning and design excellence in a variety of settings. Most of his experience involves working with developers, local and city-region governments.
As a wellbeing consultant, Jamie’s most recent work, on behalf of Argent Related, has seen him lead an overarching wellbeing strategy for one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects – Brent Cross Town (BXT), in London. He is fortunate to have worked with clients and collaborators such as C40, UKGBC, Los Angeles government’s Sustainability Department, Her Majesty’s Crown Estate, Marks & Spencer, Lendlease, Yoo Capital and Igloo Regeneration.
Outputs associated with this work have won several practitioner awards and recognition from the UN.
Between 2010-14, º£½ÇÊÓÆµ part sponsored Jamie’s PhD, supervised jointly by an urban designer and neuro-psychologist at Cambridge University. He continues this primary research, working part-time at University of Manchester, where, together with UoM colleagues. During which he has developed robust new tools such as MOHAWk and NOURISH, and ‘action research’ approaches – using analogue and digital techniques. Further information can be found .
