Francesco Cerroni is a Principal and U.S. Mobility Leader at º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, where he leads a multidisciplinary team of transportation planners, traffic engineers, designers, and crowd analysis experts.
With over 15 years of international experience, he has helped cities and organizations reimagine mobility systems that promote equity, resilience, and sustainability. His work spans transformative projects across the United States and globally. Francesco has shaped the mobility vision for Detroit’s Michigan Central Station Innovation District, led the transportation and pedestrian strategy for the New York Climate Exchange on Governors Island, contributed to the Georgia World Congress Center Master Plan in Atlanta, and directed the feasibility study for the High Line East Connector in Manhattan. He is currently guiding mobility strategies for active transportation corridors such as the Verdugo Wash in Glendale, CA, and the Palisade Shared Use Path along the Hudson River.
Francesco’s career reflects a deep commitment to climate action and inclusive design. He has pioneered tools and methodologies that demonstrate how mobility can strengthen social cohesion, expand access to opportunity, and improve quality of life. Prior to joining º£½ÇÊÓÆµ in 2019, he served as Director at Mobility in Chain NY, working in Milan, Moscow, and New York City. In that role, he partnered with global design architects and collaborated with public authorities and city departments in diverse urban contexts.
His expertise lies at the intersection of planning, design, and engineering, marked by a distinctive blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and a passion for human-centered innovation. Francesco’s perspectives on mobility and urban futures have been featured in publications including The New York Times, Forbes, Architectural Record, and Vital City.
