
Edmund Metters
Partner
Edmund is an experienced civil engineer with a particular focus on bridges. He is a º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Partner and leads our UK bridges team as well as our work with the nonprofit organisation ‘Bridges to Prosperity’.
Edmund has been with º£½ÇÊÓÆµ since 2007 and became a Partner in May 2025. He currently leads both bridge-specific and multidisciplinary projects in the UK and across the globe. Utilising his background in bridge engineering, Edmund draws on his wide range of industry experiences to manage and deliver each project to a high standard.
Edmund runs multidisciplinary projects, working closely with a number of other º£½ÇÊÓÆµ disciplines including, infrastructure, water, energy, transport, lighting, ground engineering and structures.
Specific projects of note that he has led include: the New Danube Bridge (Hungary), Red Sea Project (KSA), Battersea Power Station Bridges (London, UK), Lea Navigation Canal Bridges (Stratford, UK), Museum of the Future Link Bridges (Dubai, UAE), Nine Elms Thames Footbridge (London, UK) and the Olympic Stadium Bridges Transformation.Â
Edmund has also led various design competition entries for bridges. He works closely with architects and enjoys a collaborative approach to creating high-quality and impressive engineering solutions.
As well as being a chartered engineer and an active member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Edmund is also the membership secretary for the UK executive committee for the International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineers ().  Edmund became a º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Partner in May 2025.
