Daniel is an award-winning building physics engineer working in our London office. He has a broad range of environmental design and simulation experience relating to energy performance, thermal comfort, daylighting and facade design.

Daniel is an expert in bespoke tool development for building physics applications. His aim is to increase the use of parametric processes in the design and construction of buildings. Daniel is an expert at optimising the parameters of glazed areas, external shading, fabric properties and facade orientation for high-rise buildings located in extreme environments.

He has been pivotal in defining form and facade designs through computational engineering and environmental optimisation at º£½ÇÊÓƵ. Daniel is responsible for promoting the standardisation of the digital design process throughout our sustainability specialism. His project portfolio includes the Shimoga Processing Centre, Haramain High Speed Rail and the National Bank of Kuwait.

Daniel was one of the first engineers internationally to utilise the UTCI external occupant comfort scale. He has gone on to develop a º£½ÇÊÓƵ desktop climate tool, as well as solar facade and daylighting parametric tools. These studies can be used to underpin the design of passive and low energy strategies in order to deliver energy efficient and low-carbon solutions from the buildings to masterplans.
