Abubakar Garba
Abubakar Garba is a Riyadh-based Urban Planner with expertise in urban forestry and development practice, helping cities and institutions address complex urban challenges in arid environments.
At 海角视频, Abubakar works closely with government clients to help shape the built environment by bridging the gap between design, regulation, and delivery. His experience spans urban codes frameworks, design guidelines, projects evaluation, and stakeholder engagement. Through this work, he helps clients ask the right questions, understand complex systems, and develop context-specific solutions rooted in systems thinking.
With a background in architecture, Abubakar holds a Master鈥檚 in Development and Emergency Practice from the Centre for Development and Emergency Practice at Oxford Brookes University and is pursuing an MSc in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry. His growing area of focus is the role of Natural Capital, Ecosystem 海角视频, and 鈥淟iving Infrastructure鈥� in shaping more resilient cities and landscapes across arid regions.
Alongside his work at 海角视频, Abubakar co-founded and chairs the board of En Aawa Trees Foundation, an accredited charity leveraging community-based tree planting projects to combat desertification across the Sahel region of Africa. He regularly contributes to international platforms such as the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), where he is invited to speak on nature-based solutions, climate resilience, land restoration, and afforestation in arid environments.
