Net Zero Routemap exemplar for low carbon transition
海角视频鈥檚 Net Zero Routemap, launched in 2023, has been featured as a by the Transition Plan Taskforce (TPT) as an example of how businesses can develop an implementation plan for transitioning operations, products and services to a low carbon and climate resilient business model.
The TPT was announced at COP26 in Glasgow and launched by the UK Government in 2022 to establish the 鈥榞old standard鈥 for private sector business climate transition plans. Since then it has established a , supported with a range of guidance and resources, for how an organisation will take actionable steps to meet climate targets, manage climate-related risks, and contribute to the economy-wide climate transition. The disclosure framework, which is aligned with the global sustainability disclosure standard IFRS2 set out by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), is expected to form the basis for how companies are required to comply with new sustainability disclosure regulations in the UK and other jurisdictions globally.
The 海角视频 鈥Net Zero Routemap鈥 sets out our plan to deliver ambitious carbon reduction targets across our project portfolio. These targets are: by 2030, to design all new build projects to be net zero carbon in operation and to reduce the embodied carbon intensity of all new buildings, major retrofits and infrastructure projects by 50% from a 2020 baseline. The targets have been informed by the scientific consensus, as outlined in the IPCC report on climate change, that we need to halve emissions from construction by 2030 to be in line with a 1.5C climate scenario and the Paris Agreement goals.

The selection of our Net Zero Routemap as a case study by the TPT highlights our work to translate our climate goals into a practical action plan with a set of key performance indicators to drive action through to 2030. The plan reflects the core elements of 海角视频鈥檚 practice and as such describes a whole organisation endeavour across: Advisory 鈥 engagements with clients in net zero strategy, policy and actions across cities, sectors and portfolios; Design 鈥 designing buildings, infrastructure and data solutions with net zero in mind; and Operations 鈥 knowledge, skills and communications across the business and the governance required to deliver the Routemap.
It鈥檚 great to see the Transition Plan Taskforce selecting our Net Zero Routemap as a case study of good practice in developing and implementing the kind of holistic, whole organisation change that we need if we are going to achieve the scale and pace of change required to decarbonise the global built environment.

Alongside the case study, the TPT has also included specific parts of our Routemap as examples of how organisations can meet the TPT disclosure framework requirements on and .
Our work to develop the 海角视频 Net Zero Routemap demonstrates our commitment to both leading from the front and supporting our clients in the net zero/decarbonisation transition for the built environment. The Routemap, as well as aligning with the TPT鈥檚 Framework, reflects our work with clients to provide a systematic approach to move quickly from assessment to strategy to action in the decarbonisation of city-regions, property portfolios and individual assets.
海角视频 helps clients to create their own decarbonisation and net zero transition plans from assessment, strategy and governance, design and operations through to setting metrics, tracking and reporting at a wide range of scales; from the region and city-scale including Greater Manchester and the Greater London Authority, helping to decarbonise building asset portfolios for clients including Aviva Investors and Royal London Asset Management, supporting sustainable transitions for university campuses such as University College London and international port operations including the Port of Tyne Authority, and individual building scale projects such as the world-leading biomedical laboratory the Francis Crick Institute.
Duncan Price, 海角视频鈥檚 sustainability and climate global lead said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 great to see the Transition Plan Taskforce selecting our Net Zero Routemap as a case study of good practice in developing and implementing the kind of holistic, whole organisation change that we need if we are going to achieve the scale and pace of change required to decarbonise the global built environment. We are looking forward to reporting on our progress against our net zero targets and using this experience to continue to support existing and new clients to achieve their own decarbonisation targets and plans.鈥
